Privacy by design

Measured as a crowd. Never as individuals.

The people in your seats came to worship, laugh, listen or sing along. Seats Edge is built so they never have to wonder whether they are being watched as individuals. Here is exactly how.

Processed in your building

Live video is analyzed on a computer in your room. It is not streamed to us or to any cloud service.

No faces stored

Frames are read and discarded. The system keeps numbers about the room, never pictures of the people in it.

No one is identified

Seats Edge does not recognize faces, match names or build profiles. It cannot tell you who anyone is.

No tracking over time

Nothing links a person from one event to the next. Every event starts fresh.

Only the numbers leave

What leaves the building is the report: counts, shares and moments, with no images attached.

Crowd-level, by contract

Reports describe the room as a whole. Using Seats Edge to single out individuals is prohibited in every agreement.

What we never measure

Lines we don't cross.

  • Identity. No names, no face matching, no profiles.
  • Individual emotions. We report how the room responded, not what any one person felt.
  • Demographics. No guessing at anyone's age, gender or race.
  • Who did or didn't respond. No lists of who clapped, stood, sang or left.
  • Children. Kids are part of the head count and nothing more. We recommend never installing in children's spaces.
Being upfront with your audience

No surprises for the people in the seats.

  • Signage. Clear signs at your entrances explain what is measured and why.
  • A ready-made note. A short explanation for your website, bulletin or ticket page.
  • Your counsel's review. Rules on cameras and biometric data vary by state, including Texas. We review each deployment with you and your counsel before go-live.
  • Setup clips by consent only. If you choose expert setup review, a short clip is shared with our team, encrypted, used only for setup and deleted after review.
How the data flows

From the camera to your report.

Camera and microphone

The camera and microphone feed the booth computer directly. Nothing goes to the internet at this stage.

Analyzed and discarded

Each frame is read for counts and states, then thrown away. Sound is read for laughter, applause and the transcript.

Numbers to your report

Only the numbers and the transcript-linked moments reach your dashboard and report. You decide who can see them.

Privacy questions

Straight answers.

Can Seats Edge recognize a specific person?

No. The system has no face recognition and no database of people. It marks heads in the moment to count and measure the room, and keeps nothing that could identify anyone.

Is any video recorded?

Not during normal operation. Video is analyzed live and discarded. The only exception is an optional setup clip you choose to share for expert review, which is deleted afterward.

Who can see our reports?

Only the people you give access to. Reports contain numbers and moments from the event, not images of your audience.

What happens if we stop using Seats Edge?

We remove the equipment and, at your request, delete your reports and any account data we hold.
